Church Farm, Ardeley

Placements

Volunteers are always placed with a local Maasai host family. This is a fantastic way for all volunteers to experience Maasai culture.

Typically a host family is selected for a specific volunteer based on a range of criteria. In particular, location and the host families interests/field of work.

For example, if a volunteer is working in a medical facility, MEAC will place the volunteer within easy each of the facility, either by foot or by matatu. If the volunteer is teaching, then MEAC will usually place the volunteer with a local family who have children attending the school.

Many criteria are factored in to ensure the best host family for the volunteer is chosen.

"MEAC is so proud to be a community based project. Our greatest asset is definitely knowing the people we are helping, and a passion that comes naturally from knowing we are helping our friends, neighbours, families and tribe."
